The starters
The lower spec to the highly acclaimed HPA300 but shares the exact design, and overall build quality. At 20.8 x 17.7 x 10.1 in, Honeywell HPA200 air purifier is neither the smallest or biggest in its class. Similar story with the weight, 14lb is not heavy but certainly not as portable as other travel size air purifier. Air ventilation can be found surrounding the body with air outlet right at the top.

Honeywell HPA200 uses touch-sensitive controls that are modern but not pleasantly nice to operate. You will find 6 main buttons at the top with LED indicator light right next to it. Let’s start from left to right, tapping the Timer button will cycle between 2, 4, 8 hours. Right next to it is 2 electronic filter change reminder buttons that consist of the top Check Filters button (True-HEPA filter) and bottom Check Pre-filter button. When either for the side LED light illuminate, you will need to replace the respective filter and after doing so, tap the button for 2 seconds to reset the electronic filter check light. Continue with the Power button, tapping on it will cycle between On/ Off, Allergen, General Clean, Germ, and Off. Allergen mode is best used during allergen season, General Clean is for general, everyday air cleaning, and Germ mode is during cold & flu season. For maximum airflow delivery rate, tap on the Turbo button to turn it on. Tap again to turn it off and the air purifier will return to previous cleaning setting. Lastly, the Dimmer button will adjust the LED indicator brightness between Off, Low and high.
To recap on the spec sheet, you’ll get standard 3-stage filtration with 4 cleaning mode including turbo mode, electronic filter replacement reminders, light dimmer option, 3 pre-set hour timer, AHAM certified, ENERGY STAR certified and 5 years warranty.
Airflow, speed, and CADR
What’s inside count
Honeywell HPA200 air purifier has the same filter size and 3-stage filtration as HPA300 which by no means is poor. The Carbon pre-filter can simultaneously trap large and gas based particles. For smaller and finer particles, there is the highly reliable HEPA filter that specializes in micron size germ and allergens. The only key differences between HPA300 and HPA200 is the latter requires only 2 filter set rather than the later 3.Keep it down
Lets cut to the chase, Honeywell HPA200 air purifier noise and power consumption is no different than what another air purifier is outputting. Noise level is reasonably quiet at all 3 cleaning mode except for Turbo speed which is slightly louder. You will have no problem operating the air purifier in night mode. As an Energy Star rated unit, you can expect a moderate power usage across all speed even though there is no Auto, Sleep or Eco mode in the setting. At what cost

Honeywell HPA200 VS the challengers

Honeywell HPA300
Identical in many ways except it uses 3 filter set (VS 2), HPA300 is the highest spec between the 3 True HEPA Allergen Remover, if you want the best coverage, strongest CADR and airflow performance without a care of the cost, this is it.
Honeywell HPA100
The cheapest in Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Remover lineup but comes with the lowest airflow specification (uses only 1 filter set), weakest purifying coverage, and CADR. Otherwise, it is the same air purifier from top to bottom.
Winix 5500-2
It might have a slightly smaller purifying coverage and higher annual filter replacement cost, you will gain better dust, pollen, and smoke CADR. All the purifying goodies like PlasmaWave technology, Auto/ Sleep mode, and air quality indicator also comes standard with 5500-2.
