Like most “cheap” air purifier in the group, Levoit LV-H132 is compact and lightweight. At only 9.7 x 14.6 x 9.8 in size and 6.6 lb weight, the modern cylinder shape design is perfect for bedside table use. Build quality is decent with a slight texture on the bottom to mimic the air vent. Speaking of air vent, you have air flowing in from the bottom, purified and release out at the top. You will also find 4 anti-skid pads on the filter cover to prevent the air purifier from easily move. What’s lacking is a handle slot to hold on; not a big deal given how portable the air purifier is.

Levoit LV-H132

On to the usability, there is a power, night light, filter reset, and fan speed button at the top. Pressing the power button once will turn on the air purifier, again to turn it off. Next to it is the Night Light button with a secret function. On normal press, the button will cycle between on, dimmed light and off. Press and hold the button will disable all button lights on the air purifier. Press any button again expect the Power button will enable the button lights back on. For filter reset button, press and hold the button for 3 seconds to reset the filter countdown. Lastly, The Fan Speed Button will cycle between speed 1, 2 and 3. Overall, controls are straightforward to use but the button is a bit small.

To recap, LV-H132 is a 3-stage compact air purifier with 3 speed, nightlight, and filter reset button. Standard support includes lifetime customer support and 2 years warranty. Autonomous purifying is not available in this air purifier.

Let's be honest, Levoit LV-H132 86 sq. ft. purifying coverage is only meant for close approximately purifying. It is only suitable for bedroom use or in tight spaces. Using it on the living room is still doable, but you need to tune it to the max speed. Even by then it does not make big differences between the airflow delivery rate. Since there is no Auto mode, the best way to utilize the air purifier is to place it as close to the intended target.

CADR is not outstanding either although still better than its segment competitors. Expect an average of 110 cfm clean air delivery rate for dust, pollen, and smoke. In close range, it should handle most irritants well but keep your expectation down.

^ Levoit LV-H132 filters/ technologies/ lifespan
Nothing extraordinary on Levoit LV-H132 air purifier 3-stage filtration setup. The top Fine Preliminary Filter would first trap medium to large particles. This makes it easy for the True HEPA filter to trap super fine airborne allergen, bacteria, and viruses. Activated Carbon Filter would handle household gases and odors but with restricted efficiency. Overall, filter quality is decent and the bundled filter kit so it can be easily replaced. Just flip over the air purifier and remove the filter kit from the bottom cover.
Levoit LV-H132 100 cfm dust CADR and Nano-silver pre-filter does an OK job in trapping dust and hair. The 99.97% efficiency HEPA filter would do a better job against mold, pollen, and other allergens. Again the 100 cfm smoke CADR + Carbon filter is somewhat unimpressive. Not ideal for strong odors, chemical fumes like VOCs, radon, and ammonia.

Keep it down

Levoit LV-H132 power consumption
Power consumption
28 W
Levoit LV-H132 has a more subdue noise (≤ 43dB) that barely cause any commotion at low speed. There is the occasion fan noise during startup but is neglectable. Noise level at third speed is reasonably low too. Keep in mind that this air purifier is usually placed close to you due to the small applicable area. There might be some form of white noise throughout the whole operation. On to power consumption, the 28 W rate is no doubt energy-efficient given the weak airflow. It will not cost any extra burden even if you operate it throughout the day with or without nightlight.

^ Replacement filters/ estimated cost
Levoit LV-H132 air purifier is cheap although not the cheapest in its group. What stands out the most is the commendable 3-stage True HEPA filtration. Night light option that is also unusual in this range of air purifier. Unfortunately, you do have to live with a weaker airflow delivery rate and small coverage. Nevertheless, the cheap filter kit would balance things up for more sustainable ownership.
Levoit LV-H132 should be available in most major retailers like Walmart, Target, or HomeDepot. Skip the hassle and buy straight from Amazon to enjoy the best possible discount. You will also enjoy fast shipping and 30 days money back guarantee. Levoit official website is OK but the price is less attractive compared with Amazon. HEPA and carbon filter replacement are easy to get as this model is still in the market.

Levoit LV-H132 VS the challengers

Levoit LV-PUR131

Why not move up the chain with a bigger and more powerful unit. It can delivers stronger airflow delivery rate, wider purifying, and utilize bigger filters. The downside is the price that you have to top up an additional 50 more (maintenance cost remains though).

PureZone 3-in-1

A popular alternative that is around the same price but comes with better coverage. There is also the added UV-C light filtration and timer. It's cons: limited availability, no nightlight, and weaker airflow performance. Surprisingly CADR is poorer too.
Levoit LV-H126 air purifier

Levoit LV-H126

A newer addition to Levoit series. Despite being smaller and lighter, Levoit LV-H126 has a wider purifying. The price point is around half of what LV-H132 is offering with a lower maintenance cost. What's lacking is of course the nightlight feature.
Winix 5300-2 PlasmaWave

Winix 5300-2

Significantly better airflow, coverage and more than double of its CADR for a little bit of top up. You are also blessed with AQ indicator, Auto/ Sleep mode, timer, and PlasmaWave. The only thing you do have to settle is a bulkier body without the nightlight option.

Final thoughts on Levoit LV-H132

All in all, we are satisfied with Levoit LV-H132 practicality and we are not alone. 79% of Amazons' user rated it 4-5 stars. Most praises coming from the price point, HEPA filtration, and compactness. However, a rather high 15% of users are disappointed for a few minor things. Most point to the noisy fan even at speed 1 and the poor airflow performance. A very small portion complains of the air purifier reliability. Given this is a budget air cleaner that on itself holds many restrictions. Levoit LV-H132 should be in your bucket list if you are hunting for a cheap air purifier.
