Design and Usability

A California-based team brand that has existed since 2010. Pure Enrichment PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA is a compact, sleek and modern air purifier with an added touch of elegance. At 6.9 inches depth, 12.1 inches height, 10.8 inches depth, and 8.4 lb weight, it is fairly easy to move it around the house for room to room purifying. There’s a built-in carrying handle at the back to facilitate portability. Design-wise, you have a clean white aesthetics that blends well in most apartment decor with a minimalist approach. The standard magnet lock front panel holds the filters and UV-C light well. The air inlet is located at the sides while the air outlet is at the top surrounding the control panel. Despite being an affordable air purifier, the plasticky fitting and durability are great with no off-gassing detected.

Let’s talk about the simple touch panel and user experience. There are four round buttons with small indicator lights just above it. To the most left is the Power button that also works as a Filter reset button. Tap to turn on/ off the device or press and hold for 5 seconds to reset the filter reset countdown. Next to it is the Speed button that allows you to cycle between L (low), M (medium), or H (high). The dual function UV-C/ Sleep button is a tad confusing so bear with me on this. On repeated tap, you can either select UV-C, Sleep mode, activate or disable off. Sleep mode sets the fan speed to low and disable all indicator light. To the most right is the timer button that will cycle between 2, 4, 8 hours, and off. Select a preferred hour to shut off the machine right before you leave for work. Overall, buttons are well-spread and easy to use but lack tactile feedback.

Make sure you do not handle PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA air purifier with wet hands. Never impede air vent opening or insert objects into the air ventilation. Supervise children and pets from going near the air purifier.

That said, convenience features like built-in sensor, air quality indicator, autonomous purifying, and remote control are not available in this machine. Airflow, Coverage, And CADR

A quiet but average air cleaning performance. PureZone 3-in-1 budget air purifier 200 square feet purifying coverage is not the widest but perfectly acceptable for its segment. Given its overall dimension and budget price point, airflow output is sufficient for everyday use. The 3 fan speed is decent enough for small to medium room size. You can place PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA in the office room, baby room, garage, and bedroom (with sleep mode activated). For large room sizes above 400 sq. ft. like a basement, living hall, dining room, PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA does not have sufficient power to clean the air efficiently. Again, auto mode is omitted due to the lack of an air sensor. CADR clearly reflects on the airflow room coverage and distribution during our rigorous test. The dust, pollen, and smoke 80 cfm CADR output are not too impressive in removing airborne particulates within the specific time. But with enough operational runtime, PureZone 3-in-1 can still provide relief for people with allergies and asthma. Again for this low price range, the limited cleaning performance is understandably so. At max speed, PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA air purifier will remove close range contaminants and improve room air quality in a short amount of time.

Filters And Performance

Unlike most budget air purifiers that come with 2 or 3 levels of filtration top, PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA comes with a comprehensive 4-stage filtration. Overall PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA is good against airborne irritants that fall within its purifying zone. The use of a True HEPA filter is very much appreciated over the cheaper HEPA-type filter. Filters are on the smaller size and you do have to replace the all-in-one filter kit every 6 months. When replacing the filter set, make sure the protective plastics are removed. Also, make sure the filters are properly installed before you switch on the air purifier. The same goes for the UV lamp life that has to be replaced approximately 20,000 hours. We recommend replacing the light bulb sooner though as the efficiency will drop steadily after 10,000 hours.

Noise And Energy Usage

PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA is advertised with whisper-quiet operation. In our test, the ≤ 30-50 dB noise level is not completely silent but liveable. Expect whispering noise at low speed at around 30 dB. Set it to sleep mode to enjoy breathing purified air while having more peaceful, restful sleep. For most occasions, the fairly low pitch medium speed is very usable similar to white noise. At high speed (50 dB), the background noise can be irritating especially if you are trying to work. Most people will use this speed when they needed quick air cleaning or are away.

The average AC 120V/ 50Hz, 60 watts power consumption is average across the compact and budget air cleaner category. It will not cause a dent in your electricity bill even when running all day, every day at max speed. Perfect to manage mold contaminated issues especially in the bathroom and basement in your home. With a standard 12 hours of runtime, PureZone 3-in-1 electric cost will be around $0.1 dollars per day, $3.2 dollars a month, or 38 dollars a year. Reasonable but there are better energy-saving models out there.
