A California-based team brand that has existed since 2010. Pure Enrichment PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA is a compact, sleek and modern air purifier with an added touch of elegance. At 6.9 inches depth, 12.1 inches height, 10.8 inches depth, and 8.4 lb weight, it is fairly easy to move it around the house for room to room purifying. There’s a built-in carrying handle at the back to facilitate portability. Design-wise, you have a clean white aesthetics that blends well in most apartment decor with a minimalist approach. The standard magnet lock front panel holds the filters and UV-C light well. The air inlet is located at the sides while the air outlet is at the top surrounding the control panel. Despite being an affordable air purifier, the plasticky fitting and durability are great with no off-gassing detected.
Let’s talk about the simple touch panel and user experience. There are four round buttons with small indicator lights just above it. To the most left is the Power button that also works as a Filter reset button. Tap to turn on/ off the device or press and hold for 5 seconds to reset the filter reset countdown. Next to it is the Speed button that allows you to cycle between L (low), M (medium), or H (high). The dual function UV-C/ Sleep button is a tad confusing so bear with me on this. On repeated tap, you can either select UV-C, Sleep mode, activate or disable off. Sleep mode sets the fan speed to low and disable all indicator light. To the most right is the timer button that will cycle between 2, 4, 8 hours, and off. Select a preferred hour to shut off the machine right before you leave for work. Overall, buttons are well-spread and easy to use but lack tactile feedback.
Make sure you do not handle PureZone 3-in-1 air purifier with wet hands. Never impede air vent opening or insert objects into the air ventilation. Supervise children and pets from going near the air purifier.
Operational wise, place PureZone 3-in-1 indoor only and not directly expose to sunlight. Avoid leaving the air purifier near flammable gases e.g. fragrances and insecticides. Connect PureZone 3-in-1 to a dedicated electrical outlet and local power voltage only. Do not use the air purifier if the power cord is damaged. Do not unplug or move PureZone 3-in-1 air purifier while in operation. Never use a transformer to step down the voltage or a boost converter to step up the voltage. If the power cord is damaged, send it to an authorized service center for replacement. Do not modify, disassemble, or repair PureZone 3-in-1 by yourself.
At this affordable price range, you’ll get a good amount of features. From the 4-stage filtration with UV-C light, 3 fan speed, 2, 4, 8 hours pre-set timer, and filter change indicator. That said, convenience features like built-in sensor, air quality indicator, autonomous purifying, and remote control are not available in this machine. PureZone 3-in-1 is also ETL Mark certified compliance with North American safety standards. Finally, an industry-leading 5 years warranty is bundled in the package for non-movable parts. You will enjoy trouble-free ownership for years to come.
Airflow, speed, and CADR
What’s inside count
Unlike most budget air purifiers that comes with 2 or 3 levels of filtration top, PureZone 3-in-1 comes with a comprehensive 4-stage filtration. Stage 1 pre-filter focuses on large particles by capturing initial dust, hair, and allergen particles. Beneath is the stage 2 activated carbon filter that absorbs cigarette smoke, odor, and noxious gases like formaldehyde, benzene, VOCs. Stage 3 True HEPA filter capture 99.97% of microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns e.g. pet dander, mold spore, pollen, bacteria, and viruses. Stage 4 UV-C light clean and sanitizes the air by eliminating germs that travel along with the airflow. By leaving PureZone 3-in-1 continuously on, it can reduce harmful airborne irritants that cause swelling and allergy symptoms. You will breathe better, sleep better, and wake up with no morning congestion.
PureZone 3-in-1 is 100% ozone free as it does not use an ozone generator or fake ionizer to clean the air. The UV lights may produce an insignificant amount of ozone that is safe and neglectable. It will not cause any lung irritation or lung-related illnesses. Feel free to disable the UV-light function if you are not comfortable with it.
Overall PureZone 3-in-1 is good against airborne irritants that fall within its purifying zone. The use of a True HEPA filter is very much appreciated over the cheaper HEPA-type filter. Filters are on the smaller size and you do have to replace the all-in-one filter kit every 6 months. When replacing the filter set, make sure the protective plastics are removed. Also, make sure the filters are properly installed before you switch on the air purifier. The same goes for the UV lamp life that has to be replaced approximately 20,000 hours. We recommend replacing the light bulb sooner though as the efficiency will drop steadily after 10,000 hours.
Keep it down
PureZone 3-in-1 is advertised with whisper-quiet operation. In our test, the ≤ 30-50 dB noise level is not completely silent but liveable. Expect whispering noise at low speed at around 30 dB. Set it to sleep mode to enjoy breathing purified air while having more peaceful, restful sleep. For most occasions, the fairly low pitch medium speed is very usable similar to white noise. At high speed (50 dB), the background noise can be irritating especially if you are trying to work. Most people will use this speed when they needed quick air cleaning or are away.
The average AC 120V/ 50Hz, 60 watts power consumption is average across the compact and budget air cleaner category. It will not cause a dent in your electricity bill even when running all day, every day at max speed. Perfect to manage mold contaminated issues especially in the bathroom and basement in your home. With a standard 12 hours of runtime, PureZone 3-in-1 electric cost will be around $0.1 dollars per day, $3.2 dollars a month, or 38 dollars a year. Reasonable but there are better energy-saving models out there.

PureZone 3-in-1 VS the challengers
Levoit LV-PUR131A better performer with wider purifying coverage and stronger CADR output. It is at a cost of a higher selling price, bulkier body, and UV-Light omission.
GermGuardian AC4100Another popular option that cost even less with a smaller and lighter body. Filtration performance is not great as it lacks a dedicated carbon filter and UV-C light. It is also a dated model.
Levoit LV-H132Cheaper, lighter, and comes with an adjustable night light (great for little one). CADR is also slightly higher but loses out on purifying range, carbon filter, and UV-light.
Winix 5300-2Top up a little bit more, you will get yourself a console air purifier with full-size filters. Enjoy all-around upgrades but will have to settle with the lack of UV-light (again).
Final thoughts on PureZone 3-in-1One of the best sellers on Amazon, PureZone 3-in-1 is popular among buyers due to the exceptional value. Out of the 2311+ reviews, a very high 92% of users gave it 4-5 stars. Almost all of them praise the air purifier's effectiveness in capturing contaminants and providing cleaner air. They breathe a lot easier with fewer airborne particles in their home. They experienced less scratchy throat, sinus, cough, and other similar allergy symptoms. Pricing and usability also received good feedback as it is cheaper than most competitors' models. As for the negative feedback, only 5% of users gave it 1-2 stars. They are not happy with the weak airflow, small purifying coverage, and random fan noise.
In short, the pros triumph over the cons. You can't go wrong with compact PureZone 3-in-1 if you value quiet operation over filtration performance, and have only around a hundred dollars budget to spend. For any quality issue concerns, you have the 5-years warranty and excellent customer service to back you up. If you don't care about noise and bulkiness, there are more powerful air purifiers under $100.
