Unmistakably the 5-stage filtration is the main highlights and the reason to go for Winix 9300. Starting with the standalone washable pre-filter that traps large particles notably pet hairs, pet dander and dust. The CleanCel Anti-Bacterial Treatment would protect pre-filter from any micro-organism growth. For smaller airborne particles, the True-HEPA filter would effectively capture them at a rate of 99.97%. AOC Carbon Filter is yet another washable filter that would trap smelly odors from cooking or typically cigarettes. Finally the PlasmaWave help breaks down any odors and allergens to safe molecule without emitting any harmful ozone or byproducts.

^ Winix 9300 replacement filters estimated cost
Not the best in terms of price point as Winix 9300 is no longer available in most stores especially you could get a better deal with the higher spec and more cost efficient Winix 9500. The bundled filter replacement is same as Winix 9500 which is not too costly though hard to find. Replacing the filters is at a reasonable pace with 1 year lifespan on HEPA filter and carbon filter. To search for more Winix 9300 deal, visit Amazon as it has plenty of promotions and attractive deals with one of the shortest shipping time.

The challengers

Winix 9500 Ultimate Pet

Winix 9500

Better purifying coverage and CADR with a much more competitive deal, its hard to find any fault comparing it with Winix 9300.

Winix NK100

Newer model with significantly better purifying coverage and CADR at a much lower price tag, the only thing lacking is CleanCel Anti-Bacterial Treatment filter which isn't too much to give in.

Austin Air Pet Machine

Another Pet related air purifier with much better airflow delivery rate and coverage. There is a price to pay and is not pretty.

In conclusion......

  • Impressive 5-Stage PlasmaWave filtration with stand-alone pre-filter and carbon filter.
  • Washable Anti-Bacterial Pre-Filter and Carbon Filter (if congested with dust and other airborne pollutants).
  • With large particles captured by pre-filter, True-HEPA filter is even more efficient against air particles as small as 0.3 micron.
  • A more powerful Adv Granular Carbon Filter compare with regular Activated Carbon Filter found in lower series.
  • Auto/ Sleep mode with Trio sensor (dust, odor, light) that each detects and work individually well.
  • Smaller and lighter in size compare with Winix 9500.
  • Comes with 3 pre-set off timer option (1, 4, 8 hours).
  • Multi-functional remote control included.
  • Comprehensive digital display with separate indicator on dust and odor status.
  • Limited replacement filters as it is discontinued despite sharing the same filters as Winix 9500.
  • 1 year warranty compared with other Winix air purifiers that offered at least 3 years.
  • Rather poor CADR and limited purifying range compare with its own PlasmaWave series air purifier.
  • Winix 9500 would be a better option as it is only slightly more expensive (before discount) with better purifying capacity.
  • CleanCel Anti-Bacterial Treatment might not be as practical as your HEPA filter that you could do with or without.

Winix 9300 air purifier is made and manufactured in South Korea.

What is the function of Air Quality Sensor with Auto-Mode?

Air quality sensor or particle sensor detects the level of harmful particles in its surrounding. Using the information collected from the AQ sensor, Auto-Mode would automatically adjust the ideal speed accordingly. That way you get the best of both worlds in performance and energy-efficiency. All Winix air purifiers come with air quality sensor and Auto mode.

Is Winix 9300 air purifier wall mountable?

No Winix 9300 is not wall mountable.

Does Winix 9300 comes with all the filters for this price or do we need to buy the filters separately?

By default, Winix 9300 comes bundled with all the filters required for the air purifier to work.

How do you clean the pre-filter?

Winix permanent pre-filter or specific carbon pre-filter can be wash through vacuuming or rinsing. Simply remove the front pre-filter from the air purifier and rinse it with water to clear out all dust particles. The pre-filter must be completely dry (air-dry or hair dryer) before installing back into the air purifier.

Should I vacuum Winix 9300's carbon filter or HEPA filter periodically to boost the filters lifespan and usability?

Other than the AOC filter that requires cleaning once every 3 months, there is no need to vacuum the carbon filter or true HEPA filter before replacing them as the filters would be protected by the pre-filter from having contact with larger particles like dust. Furthermore, improper conduct on the carbon or HEPA filter could have a reverse effect that damage the filters usability and re-release the trapped particles like allergens, germs and bacteria out. You would, however need to clean the permanent pre-filter periodically or every 14 days depending on how much dust is accumulated by the filter.

Is Winix 9300's True HEPA filter washable?

You should never wash or even vacuum Winix 9300's HEPA filter unless it is clearly stated in the instructional manual. HEPA is a type of mechanical filter made completely from thin fibers. The water flow from washing or rinsing would cause irreversible damage to the HEPA filter by pushing the gap between the fibers. With opened gaps between each fibers, the HEPA filter lose its efficiency allowing fine particles like allergens pass through the filter easily.

Where do I find Winix 9300 replacement filter?

You can find the replacement filter for Winix 9300 from their official website or at Amazon. Always refer to the instructional manual on the correct filter replacement code or through our product specification section.

Can you use an extension cord to power Winix 9300?

Yes you can use it on Winix 9300 air purifier as long as the extension cord is not damaged or overloaded from too many connected appliances that end up consuming more watts than the cord can take in.

When Auto mode is selected, sleep mode is enabled by default?

When Winix 9300 is in Auto mode, sleep mode will also automatically engage when the lights go out. You will have to manually select any of the speed to disable both auto mode and sleep mode.

More on Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet

The exterior of Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet true hepa air cleaner with plasmawave technology is quite conventional or as we like to put it “safe”. Unless you are a big fan of boxy shaped design, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet looks might not be everyone cup of tea. The white/ silver combination color looks good in real life, with high focus on the black electronic display panel at the front. As standard, all functions are located at front, with air vent throughout the back and the side of the air purifier. Next in line is the fitting, controls and some basic practicality of the air purifier. Made with long lasting materials, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet decent fitting fitted with even sturdy base fits well to the body framework. The air purifier will stand tall without any sort of wobbling. Decent air purifier capacity and scale enables sufficient purifying air circulation through the air in take and out-take; a key feature that we talked about numerous times again. Minimum upkeeping is required to clean off outer dust and smudged.

Applicable area and airflow

Winix 9300
This is where Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet air cleaner is deemed "weaker" than Winix WAC9500. With a small to average purifying applicable area, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet is suitable for bedroom or small living room at best. Air circulation delivery rate is slightly limited but sufficient on most situation. However, it still retains all 5-stage of the filtration and compare with very identical series air purifiers, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet all-round purifying coverage radius is reasonable to decent rate. Staying with equally critical of air flow delivery pace, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet marvellous purifying will produce a decent amount of clean air through its 5-stage filtration system. All and all, the air purifier air circulation intake and out-take will offers the clean air purifying capability needed in our every day life.

Filters and filtration

This ingenious air purifier coupled with the combination of filter is able to clean and eradicate particles rapidly. The pre-filter will trap medium to large air contaminants and without affecting other filters. HEPA filter is highly effective in drawing micron air-borne contaminants such as dust mite, pollen, mold, mildew, pet dander and fungus. The deodorization carbon filter is effective in wiping out notorious gases and house odors coming from cooking, cleaning product, and tobacco smokes. PlasmaWave technology will produce and circulate active ions to neutralize airborne particles and released clean air back out. Highly efficient against air-borne particles and dangerous allergens.

Noise level and power consumption

Barely any noise can be heard from the air purifier, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet exclusive made motor generates minimal noise that has no impact on customer’s daily life. If you do the comparison with other common home appliances, the air purifier noise level is still within an acceptable rate. Up next is the ever energy efficient Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet that consume minimal power that is needless to say depending on the present fanspeed mode it’s in. You will only see the massive difference when the air purifier is operated in daily basis. As always, the air purifier power consumption compare to other household appliances is pretty standard.

Final thoughts on Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet

As we mentioned in previous review, Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet is a  decent air purifier instead of just a single generic type of air purifier. It is packed with all the usual features that we adored such as timer, dust/ odor/ light sensor, auto/ sleep mode in a smaller, compact size. If I have to choose between Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet and WAC9500, I would go for Winix WAC9500 despite the cheaper price tag in Winix PlasmaWave 9300 Ultimate Pet , Then again, I would still go for Winix U300 or maybe U450 due to the far more attractive design, better output performance and of course, the irresistible 5 years warranty.
